Guest House "Slanchevo" is located in the region of Nature Park Ruse Lom- a favorite spot for ornithologists and nature lovers, 25 kilometers east of Ruse, 1 km north of the E70 international road Ruse - Varna. Beli Lom river, which is a tributary of the Danube, is passing through the small picturesque village Pisanets. Near the village, with direct view of the guest house "Slanchevo", is the rock monster "Mamula" - declared a natural landmark, the virgin forest "Batakliata" bird paradise "Bakadzhika” and many caves and caverns, occupied by people since the Stone Age. From the villa you can see the rolling hills and meadows, the meandering river and the two rock plateaus knows as the large and small ancient towns. Over a quarter Draka where the villa is located, is visible natural landmark Kralimarkova step. 2 km southwest of the village is the "drilled rock” - rock formation with an interesting shape.

The area is an outstanding natural beauty . The landscape is forest, giving way to chalk cliffs with caves and caverns, setting rolling hills and meadows. The area is famous for its fishing and hunting. It is home to evast and varried bird species including the spectacular eagle and other birds of pray. The caves also are home to the bats. The world fameous UNESCO bat sanctuary is within the locality. Bears, wild boar and wolves are known to inhabite the forest. It is imposible to describe the beauty of the area, it has to be seen to appreciate it.

The city of Russe is located on the high right bank of the Danube River, 496 km from the outflow of the big river in the Black Sea, 320 km northeast of Sofia. The largest Bulgarian city on the Danube has a long history - from the 5000-year-old prehistoric settlement, the Roman town of Sexaginta Prista, or the Port of the Sixty Ships, and the important Ottoman harbour and fortress, to the present economic and cultural centre where Art Nouveau-inspired ornamentation drips from delicate turn-of the-century houses. About 200 buildings in Russe are listed in the architectural and historical heritage of Bulgaria, the most outstanding of which are: the 1908 Liberation Monument, the Drama Theatre and High School of Music, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dohodnoto Zdanie, the Kaliopa house and many others. The ancient places of interest include Leventabia Fortress, the Kyuntukapu Gate, the 1632 Holy Trinity Church, the Mahmoud Column. Russe makes a good base for exploring the nearby Rusenski Lom National Park, home to the dramatic Rock Monastery of Ivanovo and the ruined town of Cherven

You can hire bicycles from us and make a round trip of the village, the National Park and the region in the park following the Danube river. You will see the Romanian coast and the only bridge accross the Danube to Romania - The bridge of Friendship.
15 minutes by car south from the villa is the National Park - the most favourite place for ornithologists, nature-lovers. You will find there historical places of interest under the protection of UNESCO, the longest cave in North of Bulgaria with bats and stalagmites, stalactites, etc, rocky churches and monastery and many other breathtaking places. We can organise a trip to all these places if you are interested in going.
